Governor Brewer...JUST DO IT ANYWAY.

I love me some Jan Brewer, but every now and then, she seems to lose her spine.  I urge her to follow in the footsteps of Oklahoma, thus:

Oklahoma recently passed a law in the state to incarcerate all illegal immigrants, and ship them back to where they came from unless they want to get a green card and become an American citizen. They all scattered. HB 1804. This was against the advice of the Federal Government, and the ACLU, they said it would be a mistake.

Guess what………. Oklahoma did it anyway.

Recently we passed a law to include DNA samples from any and all illegal’s to the Oklahoma database, for criminal investigative purposes. Pelosi said it was unconstitutional SB 1102.

Guess what……… Oklahoma did it anyway.

Several weeks ago, we passed a law, declaring Oklahoma as a Sovereign state, not under the Federal Government directives. Joining Texas , Montana and Utah as the only states to do so.

We know you have it in you, Jan...just do it anyway.

"Jim Crow," my ass.

Well, time for some commentary on Arizona's Evil Racist Sexist Heteronormative Non-cisgendered Thisphobic Thatphobic Whatever The Proglodytes Want To Call It Bill.  First, read this insightful breakdown by Matt Walsh.

It’s not that business owners want to “refuse service” to gays simply because they’re gay; it’s that some business owners — particularly people who work in the wedding industry — don’t want to be forced to employ their talents in service of something that defies their deeply held religious convictions.

This shouldn’t be an issue, but it is, because some gays in some states have specifically and maliciously targeted religious florists, bakers, and photographers, so that they can put these innocent people in a compromising position, and then run to the media and the courts when — GASP! — Christians decide to follow the dictates of Christianity.

Yet, the cases that sparked this law are hardly discussed. The progressive mob claims that this legislation is about shoving gays to the back of the bus and making them drink out of separate fountains. George Takei echoed the sentiments of many when he likened the Arizona bill to “Jim Crow.”

OK, let's think about what Jim Crow laws really were.  There were likely plenty of folks in the segregated south who just wanted to feed people and make money.  They really didn't care who sat with who.  But the law said, "You can't have Whites and Coloreds sittin' with each other!  That's illegal!!"

Yes, the law forced discrimination on everyone, whether they wanted it or not.  If you can't understand the difference between this bill and Jim Crow laws, then just keep your mouth shut while the grownups are talking.  There is no moral difference between a law denying freedom of association, and a law denying freedom of disassociation.

Back in Minneapolis, there is--or was, ten years back, a soul food joint called "Big E's."  I have eaten until I was full.  I have eaten until I was stuffed.  But at Big E's, I ate until I literally thought my stomach was going to rupture, and I could.  Not.  Stop.  His food is that good.  Everyone should experience that at least once.  The man is a Master Chef, and soul food is his medium of choice.

But if Big E--God forbid--wanted to say, "no honkies allowed," I would respect that.  It would be a crying shame for me, but it's his business, and he has the right to run it the way he wants, regardless of whether I like it or not.  Freedom is not convenient or safe, and it's not all fuzzy unicorns farting patchouli.  Freedom is, however, the greatest good for the greatest number; you know, what leftism pretends to be.

(And does anyone find it interesting that these activists are actually fighting tooth and nail to give their money to businesses that they find 'morally' reprehensible?  Guess they figured that whole boycott thing wasn't working for 'em.)

People, if someone doesn't want your business over what you think is a bullshit reason, fine.  Vote with your wallet.  Tell them, "Thank you for making your views known before I made the mistake of giving you my money."  Then go on down the block to someone who wants your cash.  They'll go out of business soon enough.  And if they don't, then maybe your pet issue isn't the Big Deal you think it is.

PS:  George, I got nothing but love for ya.  You seem to be an awesome guy--intelligent, talented, funny, and a great sense of humor.  But this planet doesn't revolve around your sex life, so please have Scotty beam you out of this discussion, kthxbi.

PPS:  TSM has something to say.  Different tack, but same point.

That's how a REAL Governor rolls!

Jan Brewer, the Most Excellent and Badass Governor of the Sovereign State of Arizona, has just flipped Obummer the double bird.  With a twist.

Jan Brewer has signed an executive order directing state agencies to deny driver’s licenses and other public benefits to young illegal immigrants who obtain work authorizations under a new Obama administration program.

After the order was issued, supporters of the program and the DREAM Act took to the streets of Phoenix in protest. Video from Air15 showed the protesters carrying signs and walking down Central Avenue toward the State Capitol.

Brewer’s Wednesday order says she’s reaffirming the intent of current Arizona law denying taxpayer-funded public benefits and state identification to illegal immigrants.

Hey, how about you folks "Dream" your way into the American Consulate, apply for a visa, and come here legally, just like three of my four parents did?  Or would that be too much trouble?

God bless you, Governor Brewer--keep up the fight.  We've got your back.

16 April 2012

Could this be it?

By "it," I mean the ruling by our lords and mastersthe benevolent and glorious Federal Government that finally inspires the states to shout, "Get stuffed!"

Tombstone, AZ may just be facing its own burial, thanks to the actions of a bunch of unelected, unaccountable douchebags who actually think they matter.  If their demand that we return to the days of horse and wagon doesn't expose them as humanity-hating Luddites, I don't know what will.

“In some areas, Tombstone’s pipeline is under 12 feet of mud, rocks and other debris, while in other places, it is hanging in mid-air due to the ground being washed out from under it,” the institute reported.

However, instead of allowing repairs as has happened in the past, “federal bureaucrats are refusing to allow Tombstone to unearth its springs and restore its waterlines unless [city officials] jump through a lengthy permitting process that will require the city to use horses and hand tools to remove boulders the size of Volkswagens.”

Dranias told WND the organization expects to hear a decision on its request for a preliminary injunction by the end of next month.

Emphasis mine.  And now, an open message to our Governor.

Governor Brewer, there is only one civilized response to this.  It's very simple.  It consists of two words, and the first one rhymes with "duck."  Stand up against this tyranny, and we will back you.

I love Arizona.

We have a Governor and a couple of Sheriffs who aren't intimidated by our thug administration, and call things as they see them.

Of course, Ann Barnhardt, Karl Denninger and myself were calling this to your attention quite a while ago, but hey, better you see this now than never.

It's officially made the LSM.  Will you now deign to pay attention, America?

26 January 2012

I love you, Jan.

The realities of politics and diplomacy being what they are, we may not get the real story of what went down here for a good long while, if ever...but I just gotta say, THAT'S MY GOVERNOR getting right up in Obummer's face.

Hey, non-Arizonans...what's YOUR Governor shown lately as far as brass balls?

24 January 2012

Oppressives=DeceptiCons.

An Ordinary American speaks truth.  Listen up, fools....and yes, that means you idiots on either side.  This is where we stand.

This nation was founded upon individual relationships of our own deciding. The business I retired from was based upon "build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your doorstep." Small business is THE engine that drives our economy--not the Wall Street conglomerates.

I have nothing against the acquisition of wealth so long as it's done honestly and ethically. But when our top business people have done nothing more than politic their way to the top, then appointed board members who continue to inflate each others' salaries and benefits and all at the expense of the very people making those companies work who live in fear every single day as to how much longer they'll be employed, then we have a problem.

Likewise, when these crooked, greedy sons of bitches are threatened by individuals in Fish Bite Falls, USA who are selling their handmade quilts on craigslist, then we an even bigger problem.

It's EXACTLY like that.

A Jan Brewer bitch-slap

Governor Brewer seems to have found herself again.  I have no idea WTF the last few vetoes were about, but she's apparently still on board with protecting our borders.

Yeah, Mr. President...about that whole 'National Sovereignty' thing?  You suck at it.  Just FYI.

19 April 2011

"What are you doing, Jan?"

(OK, picture the title said in a HAL 9000 voice and it'll have more effect.)

I'm stunned, confused and more than a little angry.  Regular readers will recall that I've backed Governor Brewer for quite a while.  Now, I don't know what to think.

She vetoes the Campus Carry bill.  OK, perhaps she has a point about the clarity of the language involved--we all know how Leftist judges love to nitpick any concept of common sense to death.  I'll give her a pass on that.

But then she vetoes the bill requiring that people actually prove themselves to be eligible for the office of POTUS before being placed on the ballot.  While I realize that this whole 'identifying yourself' thing might be viewed as a great inconvenience to those who might not actually be Constitutionally qualified to hold the highest office in the land, I don't see it as unreasonable.

When I apply for a new job, I must provide a clean drug test, a good physical and even--optionally--a physical fitness test at some companies.  I am required by law to submit 10 years of employment history, and if the job requires a HazMat endorsement, that's an entirely new world of submitting a criminal background check plus giving my fingerprints to Uncle Sam.  (Now that this blog's gained some notoriety, I'm not counting on a renewal.)

And I'm just a truck driver.  One would think that an applicant for the position of "Leader of the Free World" would have standards a little more stringent than those required to employ a dumbass gearjammer like myself.  One would apparently be wrong.  One would think that a conservative firebrand like Governor Brewer would welcome the chance to put the whole issue to rest now and forever.

One would apparently be wrong there, too.  It's a sad day for America and Arizona, in my view.

Who got to you, Jan?  Were you threatened, bought, or a little of both?  Inquiring minds want to know.

24 February 2011

Stand with our heroes TODAY.

Eventually, the progressives know if they hold out long enough they will win.  It works every time.  The media will focus on the support the progressives have and make it look like they are on the right side of any issue.  Eventually the conservative leader mistakenly falls prey to his/her own concern about perception and immediately the Progressive wins.  That is how they roll.   This is why it is so important to reach out to conservatives and reinforce to them, whoever they are, that we support their stance and position.  If we do not, the creeping worry of perception and subsequent guilt leads to compromises in principled positions.  There are some issues that reach beyond the framework of concession and compromise and strike at the very core of conservative belief.  Those issues must not EVER be allowed to fall prey to public, or media pressures.

RTWT, and then start showing your support.  Sometimes, a word of encouragement at the right time can change history.

Arizona?

It's a billion degrees, everything that moves is trying to poison you, every plant wants to turn you into a pincushion, there's booze and guns everywhere you look...why on Earth do I live here?

Oh, yeah--because our Governor has a spine of titanium.

Give 'em hell, Jan!!

More election post-mortem

The bad news:

Bill Randall lost in NC.  Can't say he didn't bring the fire, though.

O'Donnell lost in DE, no thanks to Karl "the Assassin" Rove(up yours, buddy).

Harry Reid blatantly stole the election from Sharon Angle in NV.  I'm sure our valiant Department of Justice will get right on that.

Tancredo lost the gubernatorial race, and Ken Buck--unless a miracle occurs--just lost the Senate recount in CO.

The Murkowski/Miller and Rossi/Murray races are still battling it out, but with the amount of criminal action this year on the Dems' part, I'm not too optimistic.

God help me, I had to vote for Juan McSame.  The only good news I can pull out of this is that, as a finger-in-the-wind flip-flopper, he's likely smart enough to flip our way.

The good news:

We still kicked ass.  Not quite as much as I would have liked, but an unmistakable beatdown.  Nikki Haley is SC's new Governor-Elect.  Susana Martinez took NM.  Allen West(FL) is officially In Da House, while Marco Rubio(FL) and Rand Paul(KY) are headed for the Senate to shove the Constitution up some DeceptiCon orifices.  The Baddest Governor In The Southwest is still keeping watch over the Sovereign State of Arizona, and Michele Bachmann will indeed be holding her Constitutional Studies Classes for our elected officials.  Beats studying the Communist Manifesto like they're apparently doing now.

The shock:

Hank Johnson was re-elected in GA-4.  "Who?"

This guy:

Seriously, WTF?  This isn't even a question of R vs D or Conservative vs Liberal.  The man is mentally unfit to be in charge of anything more complicated than deciding what to have for lunch.  People in GA-4 actually went to the effort of voting this man into office.  Again.

I'm usually loathe to invoke stereotypes, but I think GA-4 contains a large portion of people whose family trees are missing a few branches.  Either that or they make some pretty powerful 'shine around those parts.

Can anyone tell me what the hell those people were thinking?

10 August 2010

Who gets my vote for Governor?

Jan Brewer, naturally.

Hey, she's endorsed by Chuck Norris. Really. And I kind of like my head attached to my shoulders and not roundhouse-kicked into a previously undiscovered plane of reality.

Besides, she's the baddest Governor to ever walk the Earth, outside of Sarah Palin. Observe:

Jan Brewer flosses her teeth with barbed wire from the border.
The movie Terminator is, in fact, an autobiographical documentary of Jan Brewer’s life.
Jan Brewer invented every letter of the alphabet, including ?.
Jan Brewer once had an awkward moment. Just to see how it feels.
Jan Brewer is known to cure narcolepsy just by walking into the room.
Janet Napolitano lives vicariously through Jan Brewer.
Jan Brewer climbed Mount Everest in just one day. Twice.
The most interesting man in the world retired when he met Jan Brewer.
You don’t decide whether or not to boycott Arizona. Jan Brewer decides whether or not to let you in.
Jan Brewer can pop a wheelie on a unicycle.
Jan Brewer taught Chuck Norris how to do a roundhouse kick.
Liberal President Franklin D. Roosevelt once said: “We have nothing to fear but fear itself. And Jan Brewer.”
Jan Brewer can squeeze orange juice out of lemons.
Sharks have a week dedicated to Jan Brewer.
When Jan Brewer wants shade, she stares down the sun.
Jan Brewer sealed the border. By herself.

So, my fellow Arizonans, get out the vote for Governor Brewer this November...or you may find out what Chuck Norris' boot leather tastes like! ;)

Why I'm voting for J.D. Hayworth

Because he's not John McCain.

I appreciate Senator McCain's sacrifice on behalf of our country, but I'm fed up with people seeing him as some untouchable saint because of it. "That was yesterday. What have you done for us today?"

I've heard rumors that JD might be somewhat of a DeceptiCon. Maybe so, but I simply cannot stomach voting for a known DeceptiCon flip-flopper any more. McCain's recent transformation from "Amnesty now!" to "Finish the damn fence!" has made up my mind.

Governor Brewer was a guest on Hannity today, and Sean commented that McCain was all about 'finishing the fence.' Governor Brewer replied, "Yes, I know." I kid you not, I could actually hear her rolling her eyes over the sat-radio. Senator McCain seems to be oblivious to the fact that we, as a state and a nation, are now paying attention. Politicians can't get away with sudden reversals of position the way they used to--too many of us are watching and taking notes.

Senator, I'm eternally grateful for you putting the Sarahcuda in our national spotlight, but with all due respect, your time is over. Please, just bow out gracefully and retire with a certain amount of dignity.
