Safe nuclear power?

By way of iOTW, we find what appears to be a clean, safe and efficient source of nuclear power.  Ladies and gentlemen(and the rest of you)...

...the Thorium Reactor.

While we'll still need petroleum, for a variety of different uses, we'll need so much less of it that we could easily get all we need from our own reserves.  If these guys are right, this reactor could well bring us complete energy independence...forever.

Where's our government on this?

  1. I've posted about Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactors several times. It is great to see someone else catching on. It is super safe and requires very little space. It could be the future if we only had the will to make it so.
