On this day, in 1975, the Edmund Fitzgerald went down with all hands. She carried iron ore, which may seem a boring commodity to some of you. But without the people who earn their living with seemingly mundane things, a civilized first-world lifestyle would be impossible.

A lot of folks, Canadians especially, rag on Lightfoot for being a leftie tree hugger. I still like his music, though.
