How America rolls

America was the first country on Earth that elevated the rights of the individual.  Hence, the Constitution begins with three words in enormous font:

We the People

"We the people" are supposed to run this country, not crony corporatists and political hacks.  And that concept may finally be sinking in.  From coast to coast, Americans are simply refusing to comply with laws they see as unjust and unConstitutional.

The latest example is the ongoing battle against Second Amendment infringements in Washington state.  Mike Vanderboegh  is one of those engaging in armed civil disobedience, and his friend and colleague David Codrea weighed in on his decision to do so earlier:

There's a growing movement that's getting sick and damned tired of all the posturing and games, while rights we clearly understand are ours are being denied by self-serving oathbreakers as citizens are intimidated and punished for exercising them. Some people are through asking. They're going to start taking back, especially where listening to the lawyers and the lobbyists has failed.
Like it or not, that's what's happening.
Look at the untold hundreds of thousands of gun owners, who simply wish to be left alone but who are adamant in demanding their rights, and who have thus refused to register their guns as ordered in places like California, New York and Connecticut.
Look at how “authorities” know their demands have been ignored for all to see, and wish some of their impulse control-challenged media sycophants would stop calling attention to their impotence, and instead catch on to a self-imposed code of silence on mass “scofflaw” roundups that the major anti-gun groups seem to have adopted. Look at how government agents backed down from armed citizens at the Bundy Ranch. Look at how Oath Keepers maintained their armed rooftop vigils, despite unlawful police orders to stand down.
Look at the resolve of Washington’s “I Will Not Comply” activists.

At the rally yesterday, Mr. Vanderboegh gave a fine speech which laid it out plainly:  Individual action will succeed where our 'leaders' have been failing.

This isn’t about “common sense gun safety” as they claim. This is about control – their control of a government monopoly of violence over the people. They don’t want to hear any dissent from you in the peanut galleries, so they will silence you. BUT THEY WILL SILENCE YOU IF, AND ONLY IF, YOU ALLOW THEM TO DO IT. Will you allow them to silence you? Will you?
They hide behind their priveleges, this new parliamentary tyranny, this self-appointed Mandarin class of our so-called “betters” – they hide behind their alleged “purviews” and “parliamentary priveleges” and expect their designated bully boys of the Washington State Police to make you knuckle under – or else.
It is not THEIR precious butts they put on the line with their unconstitutional diktats – oh, no, never their own – no, they misuse the good men and women of the Washington State Police to do that. For they are at heart cowards, and they know it. And they are right to be right about that one thing – firearms in the hands of the people scare them. They are as allergic to them as Dracula is to crucifixes and for the same reason – they get in the way of tyrannical appetites.

These folks not only made their point at the Capitol building, they brought their demands to the Governor's mansion as well:

We came out of the Capitol building feeling indescribable; we were fulfilling a blood-bought debt.  All the Founders ever asked of us was that we do our part, that we stand as they did.  They asked that we guard our liberty, but if it ever became necessary, that we stand in the breach and say no more.
An unconstitutional law is no law at all.
As we marched to the gate of the governor’s mansion, the State Patrol trooper watched us approach from his security booth.  We paused at the gate next to his door, and Rep. Shea and Rep. Scott stood in front of the crowd.  As the trooper slowly opened the door, he was greeted heartily and respectfully by the two people who were truly acting as the Representatives of the People.

This is how we're going to win.  By recognizing that our God-given human rights are not up for discussion or debate, and understanding that anyone attempting to curtail those rights is to be ignored, resisted, or dealt with however necessary...

...but never, ever obeyed.

More Tea Party racism!!

at a most excellent blog, Essex & Orange.

See?  Whiter than a polar bear in a blizzard!  Can't find a single non-Caucasian in the whole crowd!

(Sadly, even upon viewing the photo, there are some who won't get the joke.  Demented, I tell ya.)

More on "Homeland Ops"

The good people at Sipsey Street have a bunch more research and commentary that you really ought to take a look at.

Yet Benson seems to think that individual troop morale is his only problem. He ought to be wondering whether his orders will be obeyed at all, or, more to the point, which way the military's weapons will be aimed.
As ridiculous and faulty-premised as Benson's article is, we must take it seriously. At least some Pentagon planners are considering how to wage "anti-insurrectionary" operations against that class of folks that Obama sneeringly referred to as "the bitter clingers." That such military tyranny would be both a violation of their Constitutional oaths and treason seems not bother Benson and his ilk a whit. Thus, if the Pentagon is going to consider us potential enemies, we must give some thought to the application of Fourth Generation Warfare techniques in righteous self-defense against tyranny.
Now there's a nugget around which Benson can build his next article.
What scares me is the notion that too many soldiers will simply follow orders.  If their officers don't understand the concept of treason, will the average grunt even think twice about it?  Unfortunately, we may well have to heed the advice of this commenter:

Mark Matis said...
Let me put this succinctly:

If this country's "Leadership" gives these orders
And if the designated military units form up per these orders
And if EVERY OTHER "Law Enforcement" officer and military member do NOT immediately rise up, force these units to stand down, and arrest and execute the "Leadership" - both civilian and military - who gave these orders then

Every "Law Enforcement" officer
Every "Law Enforcement" officer's family
Every military member
Every military member's family
are the enemy, and must be dealt with under the VERY SAME Rules of Engagement they will be using against Mere Citizens.

Anywhere. At any time.

Please, God...don't let it come to that.

She beat me to it.

I've been formulating a post concerning the ridiculous notion that 'Justice' Roberts has somehow gotten over on the Thug Regime by voting in favor of Obamacare.  "Oh, but he MADE THEM ADMIT IT'S A TAX NOT A PENALTY!!  Now we've got them right where we want them!!"

As if anyone's going to give a damn.  95% of America will think, "Whatever it is, they said it was legal.  Oh, well..." and turn back to 'Ow My Balls.'  The nuances supposedly at work here don't amount to a beer fart in a hurricane when the rubber meets the road.

Cher gets a spanking

No, this isn't a leaked pervy video.  I really don't want to see or even imagine that chick naked unless she gains at least 50 pounds and finds the 'On' switch for her brain.

This is simply the incomparable AlfonZo Rachel verbally bitch-slapping yet another know-nothing Oppressive elitist.  Sit back and watch the fun!

(Warning:  Language OK, but concepts discussed may be not-so-family-friendly.  Preview before you decide whether to let the kids watch this one.)

Left's gay-baiting attempt results in epic fail

Seems one of Arizona's most stalwart lawmen was dragged out of the closet by the Left last month.  Sheriff Paul Babeu has long been an outspoken critic of the Thug Regime, from their scofflaw immigration enforcement to the criminal "Fast & Furious" debacle.

The Left finally dug up what they thought was 'dirt' on Sheriff Babeu, and released it under the cover of bogus charges from a supposed ex-boyfriend who claimed Babeu threatened to 'reveal his immigration status.'  Turns out dude's an American citizen, so it's puzzling what Sheriff Babeu was purportedly going to 'reveal.'  But, like most Leftist accusations, it doesn't have to make any sense--just throw up a sensational headline and race on to the next one before everyone finds out the first one was a load of crap.

By what right?

RTWT.
It is by no accident that the Tea Party was demonized as it was. They fear it. They fear anyone who intends to bring one major question into play: "If the Constitution is an out-dated document that is a living document and subject to constant interpretation, then by what authority do you claim power?"

Emphasis mine.

I'll say it again: That 'no rule of law' thing can work both ways. And the widespread recognition of that fact is what those in power fear most.

A Cocktail Party reward

Last July, I joined many others in posting my outraged disappointment concerning the decidedly non-Conservative actions of Col. Allen West, whom we'd considered one of the Conservative movement's rising stars.  I don't claim to know the minds of my fellow man, but there didn't seem to be much of an alternative explanation other than Col. West's being co-opted by the Cocktail Party.

This is what cooperating with these people gets you.

As we have pointed out before, Freshman Congressman Allen West was manipulated by the Decepticon establishment into supporting various horrid legislative constructs; most damningly the raising of the debt ceiling.   West joined with McCain and Boehner calling the Tea Party, hobbits, childish and damaging.    Now the establishment is done with West and he’s about to find out what that means.   He sold his soul (support) to them and now that he’s completed their bidding they will eliminate him.
So...what now, Colonel?

Same thing I've been saying...

...only with a lot more cussing.  If you want the NSFW version of my attitude towards DeceptiCons, read it at Cold Fury:

Go piss up a rope, pal. You may be fine with continuing to vote for any old closet liberal the GOP establishment crams up your ass in hopes that he might somehow miraculously turn up in DC and govern like a conservative–which, why would he? And why would the GOP establishment ever bother to get behind a real conservative and push hard the way they have for Mittens? They already know they own your vote no matter what, so why should they do anything but keep trotting out their tired stable of Dole McRomneys for an easy-lay sucker like you?–but I’m all done voting for liberals myself, and I don’t give a good goddamn whether they have an “R” after their name or not.
It gets harsher.  As it should.

What we want:

Summed up very nicely in this article at American Thinker.  Here's the money quote:

...what the voters are craving in the debates and on the stump is someone who can look liberals squarely in the eye and tell them why we are right and they are wrong.  The American conservative base has had to put up with being called stupid, racist, greedy and unfair for decades by not only the Democrats but the vast majority of the media.  The pent up frustration of these decades is magnified by the fact that George H. W. Bush, Bob Dole, George W. Bush and John McCain would not or perhaps could not confront this.

In fact, rare is the Republican candidate at any level who refuses to put up with this and fights back.  When they do, they become sensations.  Even Chris Christie and Donald Trump -- neither one a real conservative -- earned the love of the Republican base by simply deigning to fight back.  Marco Rubio and Allen West are far more popular and well known than they have any right to be simply because they refuse to accept the argument on liberals' terms.  They fight.  They elicit the roar.

Thoughts on the GOP Final Four...

...aka, "How the Wraith prefers his crow prepared."

Well, well.  It's come down to four candidates for the GOP nomination.  A guy I told to piss off, a dyed-in-the-wool DeceptiCon, someone I called a non-starter, and a guy I used to support until I started fully analyzing the consequences of some of his positions.  Let's take a look at...

Mitt Romney: The ULTIMATE "wasted vote."

"If you're voting for Romney because you think he's a Conservative, you're wrong.

"If you're voting for Romney because you think he can beat Obama, you're wrong again."

And while we're at it, if you think a Romney Presidency will differ in any meaningful way from another four years of Obummer, you're way past wrong and headed for certifiably insane.  Romney and Obummer are both hardcore statists.  No matter which of them wins, we get more government intervention jammed up our asses without lube.

And as for the same old, tired nonsense about 'we have to get behind the most-electable candidate,' just forget about us falling for that bullcrap again.  D00d.  You're betting on the guy who got beat by the guy who got beat by Obummer the last time?*  You call that 'electability?'

Here's a vivisection of Mittens that beats the LSM to the punch, starring our favorite spitfire.  Get some food and beverages ready, because it's 52.5 minutes.  Suck it up and watch it anyway--consider it an opportunity to give your attention span a workout.  You'll need it.

The creators of this video have most definitely earned the 10th-ever W&PO Award For Extreme Cleverness.  EPIC.

*  And I maintain that only the addition of Governor Palin as VP kept Juan McSame from being stomped like a Klansman in Compton.

Rumble in the cerebellum!!

Submitted for your inspection:  two highly intelligent men.  Both patriotic capitalists with differing ideas regarding OWS.  Both have valid points to make regarding the "Occupy Everything" movement and the state of the nation as a whole.

Denninger:
I've taken a boatload of heat for my alleged "support" of the "Occupy Everything" meme that is taking off across the country. There are a lot of people commenting on my positions that have displayed everything that is wrong with our education system, chief among them being its utter lack of teaching people to read for content rather than generating spittle-laced knee-jerk invective.

No matter. Since 2007 I have written what I believe on The Market Ticker and if you read Musings going back to 2004 you can see my commentary there too. A very few remember the rather-acerbic interviews and debates that I had with the ACLU and other organizations during the 1990s, including some tame appearances on Chicago Tonight and some much-more-lively ones on Usenet. If you think I can't take the heat that gets dished out you are rather naive; I believe there were entirely-new curses named for me back in the 1990s. In comparison the screeching of people on other blogs and media outlets today is the sort of thing that annoys with the intensity of a dog that occasionally barks next door.

Alvie:

As for educating the Occupy occult, I'm not feeling it. The only way that they become a revolution is if people like you and me assist them. Otherwise, they remain a small group tht will be ignored. Did you feel that chill go down your spine? Until people come alongside them to give them mainstream cred, they'll remain a fringe group rather than the 99% they claim to be. I can only imagine how far Restore The Constitution would go with similar support.

Let them craft their own damn message. Let them keep shitting on cars and doorsteps and residents. Let them wear out their welcome. Let the left keep full ownership of occupy and all the fallout that goes with it. Seriously. Two things I know about "bipartisanship" as demonstrated in Washington. 1) Bipartisanship means the right acceding to the demands of the left today for the promise of quid quo pro from the left tomorrow. 2) Bipartisanship means hold on to your property and your liberty because one/both is about to be assaulted.

Make up your own mind.

So now what?

No, I haven't thrown myself under a truck in a fit of abject despair that Governor Palin isn't running.  I'm disappointed, but I reiterate:  This is not about one person.  This is about what needs to be done.

Over the course of my life, I've been watching America commit slow-motion suicide.  We've been driving, constantly, toward the edge of the cliff of tyranny for the past one hundred years.  Sometimes, we've sped up, during administrations such as Woodrow Wilson's and FDR's.  Sometimes, we've slowed down; during the Reagan Era, we were simply idling in gear.

But we've never been able to turn the wheel.  No matter what our speed, we keep heading toward the cliff.  And since January 2009, we've been screaming toward it with both feet on the hammer, the tach redlined and the speedometer sitting on the pin.  In the November elections, we grabbed for the emergency brake, but all that mostly did was smoke the brake shoes and scrub off a few miles per hour.  We're still heading toward it at great speed, and the edge of that cliff is fast approaching.  If we don't meet it before the next election, it'll be a miracle.

What I'm saying, in my roundabout gearhead manner, is:  TIME'S UP.

Tea Partiez In Da Hood

No, really.  Observe the first South Central LA Tea Party(HT iOTW):

Mr. Obama...you do realize you're toast next year...right?

31 July 2011

Oh, Colonel...really?

Commenter "Grandpa" at iOTW sums up the recent actions of Allen West.  To say I'm disappointed is on the level of saying that outer space is slightly chilly.

FACT: Congressional bill #1 in 2011 was a vote to defund Obamacare. Allen West did not support it and voted NO.

FACT: Allen West voted to continue FUNDING for the fraud that is Pigford.

FACT: Rep Kings Bill to defund the Libyan war and call Obama to task on his violation of the war powers act. Allen West voted no. He voted to fund Obama’s war.

FACT: Allen West disparaged, the Tea Party with name calling. Sure he twisted himself in knots saying people misunderstood. But I heard him. There was no misunderstanding.

FACT: Allen West voted to support the raising of the Debt Ceiling. A specific platform plank he used as a talking point in his election effort at 36 different venues in speeches. He promised on 36 different public occasions to vote AGAINST raising the debt limit and borrow more money.

Principles matter, perhaps not to progressives who are comfy in the land of hypocrisy and lies, but a conservative, a real patriot, should never be comfy there or even know where the flippin place is. It shouldn’t even be on their map.
"Steadfast and loyal," Col. West?  Really?  You were elected to take a stand against the Obama regime, sir.  Remember?  What happened to that?

I need a drink.  Make that several.  :(

A Congressman to watch out for

Joe Walsh (R-IL) gives "Tingles" Matthews a stern talking-to(link includes video).

Matthews demanded to know from Walsh where were the cuts in the proposal from House Republicans and why they were wasting time pursuing a balanced budget Amendment now, when the country could go into default in a few weeks if the debt ceiling was not raised. Walsh responded “where’s the President’s plan Chris Matthews” and stressed that it was Obama who wasn’t serious and was playing politics. Walsh also vowed that as a freshman Congressman, he promised to change how business is done in Washington and that’s exactly what the Republicans are now doing.

With the pleasantries out of the way (and by pleasantries I mean passive aggressive questions flying back and forth between the two men implying that the other had no clue what they were talking about), then the gloves really came off. Matthews interrupted Walsh’s response and said “let me ask you three questions,” to which Walsh advised “try one at a time.” Then as tensions began to rise, and as Matthews continued to suggest Obama was trying to be the reasonable one in the debt negotiations, Walsh had enough and unleashed the word: “tingle!” Walsh informed Matthews that the “the American people are beyond you” and unlike Matthews, Obama “doesn’t send a thrill up my leg.” According to Walsh, if anyone should be accused of wasting time it is the President, who did nothing on this issue for the past six months.

And just when the fight seemed to be calming down, both sides proved they were ready for Round 2!...

RTWT.  Rep. Walsh is proving to be a welcome light of sanity in the state of Illinois.  I'm keeping an eye on this dude.
