Ice-T called it...

...almost a quarter century ago

"Watch what you say," indeed.  Apparently, Eric Holder thinks we're now under Sharia law, and intends to prosecute anyone who dares "defame" (aka "tell the truth about") the tyrannical cult known as Islam on social media.

Well, I don't FaceBook, so I guess this will have to suffice.

Islam is an evil, totalitarian political system disguised as a religion.  It is incompatible with liberty, equality, human rights, civilization, or even sanity.  It is anti-American, anti-human and anti-life.  It is a menace to humanity itself, a cancer of the mind and soul, and nothing good has ever, or will ever, come of it.

Come get me, you fascist scumbags.

Spot. On.

Angry White Dude just laid it down for you

Here’s the deal black people beholden to the excuse of slavery. I don’t like the fact that there was slavery in America any more than you do. But it wasn’t me and it wasn’t you. Wasn’t my parents nor yours. Nor our grandparents or even great-grandparents. In fact, my family never owned slaves nor did 95+% of Americans who lived during that time. If blacks are able to blame their problems on slavery, then AWD should be able to blame all my problems on the English King Edward Longshanks who stole and enslaved the lands of my Irish forefathers. Yeah, that’s it! The English are holding me down!

There’s two reasons we still hear about slavery every day in America. 1. There’s money in it. Professional race-baiters like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and numerous black preachers join a legion of professional liberal, black ‘journalists’ to propagate victim-status among the black community. These race-baiters are much more dangerous to blacks than white people ever could be. These evils teach those who listen that the “system is against them” and they cannot make it without massive government support. The race-baiters excuse bad black behavior that would never be tolerated by other races in society. The lessons learned by young blacks at an early age from the race-baiters is they can never be successful because of slavery and white people and they will never be held responsible for their actions. What a horrible message to teach a child! It chains them to the slave plantation of hatred and dependence.

What race-baiters should teach black children is anyone can become successful in America by hard work, education and by making quality life decisions. Black children should be taught that dropping out of school, having illegitimate children at early ages, joining gangs, committing violent acts, etc will almost guarantee a life of poverty. These are the lessons responsible parents of all races teach their children. America offers black children more advantages than any other country in the world. Yet, they are taught by ‘leaders’ in their community that they are victims of slavery.

RTWT.  I can add nothing more than I've already said on the subject.

What they really want

An award-winning essay on today's liberalism:

As naked power-lust is a rather ugly motive, the Progressive rationalizes his desire to rule as a concern for human welfare, seeing himself as a great humanitarian, far superior morally to the lesser beings who pursue merely “materialist” ends such as their own prosperity and who frequently object to his program for achieving Utopia. This assumed moral superiority spills over into fields of practical accomplishment, and the Progressive imagines himself capable of allocating resources and even directing entire industries far more efficiently than a free market, often despite not even having any business or scientific experience. But despite what the Progressive believes about himself, the desire to compel others to obey his orders is what drives him forward. To satisfy this desire, there is ultimately no limit to what actions he will take, for he respects none of the restrictions on government officials intended to guarantee individual freedom that have been developed and set forth in written or unwritten constitutions.

For all their "good intentions," this is what's at the core of it all.  Be afraid.

Mystery Prison: Not so mysterious

Well, seems like that "mysterious FEMA prison" down by Yuma, is nothing more than another Arizona State Prison.  Not a FEMA vehicle in sight, but lots of the usual DOC stuff.

I could swear I hadn't seen it listed before, but maybe I just missed it.  Regardless, this appears to be yet another debunked conspiracy theory.  Watch yourselves, folks...there's a lot of misinformation out there, some well-meaning, some purposeful.

Verify, verify, verify!!

A smack with a rolled-up Constitution

Something our country sorely needs.  Go forth to the Vulgar Curmudgeon and witness the strength of logic and reason:

"It is not the amount, Colonel, that I complain of; it is the principle. In the first place, the government ought to have in the Treasury no more than enough for its legitimate purposes. But that has nothing to do with the question. The power of collecting and disbursing money at pleasure is the most dangerous power that can be entrusted to man, particularly under our system of collecting revenue by a tariff, which reaches every man in the country, no matter how poor he may be, and the poorer he is the more he pays in proportion to his means. What is worse, it presses upon him without his knowledge where the weight centers, for there is not a man in the United States who can ever guess how much he pays to the government. So you see, that while you are contributing to relieve one, you are drawing it from thousands who are even worse off than he. If you had the right to give anything, the amount was simply a matter of discretion with you, and you had as much right to give $20,000,000 as $20,000. If you have the right to give to one, you have the right to give to all; and, as the Constitution neither defines charity nor stipulates the amount, you are at liberty to give to any and everything which you may believe, or profess to believe, is a charity, and to any amount you may think proper. You will very easily perceive what a wide door this would open for fraud and corruption and favoritism, on the one hand, and for robbing the people on the other. No, Colonel, Congress has no right to give charity. Individual members may give as much of their own money as they please, but they have no right to touch a dollar of the public money for that purpose. If twice as many houses had been burned in this county as in Georgetown, neither you nor any other member of Congress would have thought of appropriating a dollar for our relief. There are about two hundred and forty members of Congress. If they had shown their sympathy for the sufferers by contributing each one week's pay, it would have made over $13,000. There are plenty of wealthy men in and around Washington who could have given $20,000 without depriving themselves of even a luxury of life. The Congressmen chose to keep their own money, which, if reports be true, some of them spend not very creditably; and the people about Washington, no doubt, applauded you for relieving them from the necessity of giving by giving what was not yours to give. The people have delegated to Congress, by the Constitution, the power to do certain things. To do these, it is authorized to collect and pay moneys, and for nothing else. Everything beyond this is usurpation, and a violation of the Constitution."

Yes, it's long.  Yes, RTWT.  And yes, most of America will lose interest by the third paragraph and go searching for Kim Kardashian pictures.

Why we're not voting our way out of this

part 479,327,081...

What this basically means, is that both the left AND the right are trying to consolidate power for their own ends. The Republicans use it to line their own pockets and have an empire (based on military exploits) while the Democrats are using government to line their own pockets while mouthing the utopian platitudes.

We’ve delved into the no-mans’ land of total government control (remember George W. Bush signing the PATRIOT-USA act?), and whether you vote for the right or the left, you will NOT get your freedom back by merely voting on election day, because all of the “acceptable” candidates are pushing further and further left… on the above graph.

THIS is why nothing ever changes in Washington D.C., and only continues to get worse.

RTWT, long but worthwhile.  Still think 2014/2016/whatever matters a damn?

20 May 2013

Don't read this.

Seriously...just don't.  If you ignore this warning, I'm not responsible for your nightmares.

Credit where it's due

You're going to be blown away by this, but...Barack Obama actually said something I agree with!!

Nobody cares how tough your upbringing was. Nobody cares if you suffered some discrimination. And moreover, you have to remember that whatever you’ve gone through, it pales in comparison to the hardships previous generations endured — and they overcame them. And if they overcame them, you can overcome them, too.

You now hail from a lineage and legacy of immeasurably strong men — men who bore tremendous burdens and still laid the stones for the path on which we now walk. You wear the mantle of Frederick Douglass and Booker T. Washington, and Ralph Bunche and Langston Hughes, and George Washington Carver and Ralph Abernathy and Thurgood Marshall, and, yes, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

These men were many things to many people. And they knew full well the role that racism played in their lives. But when it came to their own accomplishments and sense of purpose, they had no time for excuses.

Well said, Mr. Obama.  Well said, indeed.  This is exactly what young Black folks need to hear.

I just wish I could believe you really meant it.

About those "reasonable restrictions..."

...those who decide who's subject to them, have the upper hand.

Remember that if your little darlin's are in public school, any teacher and any school nurse has the power to label your child as mentally defective, simply by saying little Johnny stares out the window instead of reading his textbook.

Also, any physician your child visits, under ObamaCare, will be able to make the same label with nothing more than a note in the margins.

Yes, labeling kids as defective is a multi-billion dollar industry for Big Pharma.

RTWT.  Do you really think they won't try something like this...?

Get up, stand up!

Denninger gets to the core of the matter:

The bottom line is the same; your right to life only exists so long as you are willing and able to defend it.

The same bottom line exists for liberty and the offense against it that is delineated in most of the above list; you have such a right only so long as you are willing to defend it. The minute you cede that right you have consented to what you are experiencing and you lose the right to bitch about it until and unless you stand and take back that which God gave you.

This is basic logic and as soon as you cede basic logic you inevitably lose every other point of argument. In this case when you lose those arguments you risk losing your life and/or liberty; you are literally risking death or enslavement.

RTWT.  Ain't nobody coming to save us, people.  So what now?

Now we play some reggae!

More on Publik Skool

From a guy I only agree with about 70% of the time, but when Captain Capitalism is on, he's ON:

If there is an example of how we abuse, enslave, and take advantage of our children, the United States' (and most other western nations') educational system is it. From the age of 5, we have our country's WORST people act like they're educating them, when in reality they are doing far worse.

At best they are baby sitting the tykes (thankfully taking those crying, liability-brats much-loved-children off of our hands, which is why very few parents ever complain). But worse they are typically (though not always) our most incompetent and lazy citizens looking for an easy "career." Too lazy to learn a skill or a trade, millions of worthless and lazy people declare "education" as a major not because they nobly care about the children, but like the idea of 3 months off, avoiding math at all costs, and being practically unfireable. But the absolute worst is the brainwashing that occurs by these despicable people. Indifferent about providing a genuine education to these children and preparing them for the real world, members of the education industry are first and foremost interested in brainwashing the little tykes into voting for future socialist causes, namely, more money for education, thereby guaranteeing their own financial futures.

However, the slavery is not merely relegated to K-12. Not by a long shot. There's still blood in those bodies that need to be sucked out and by god, we're going to get every drop.

Yep, that's exactly how it is.  RTWT, and if you see yourself in this post, it is your responsibility to correct the situation post haste.

The Death Penalty and Christianity

From the comments on this post at 4gfc:

But there are things more important than life. Justice is only one of them. Love is another. And if we loved like God loves, I suspect that we would value life less and value justice more.

RTWT from initial post through the comments.  As much as I admire and respect The Anchoress, I'm thinking she's mistaken on the subject.

A debate between these two would be an awesome thing to behold, as it would be respectful, intelligent and no one's mother would be dragged into it.  And it might just result in putting the whole question to rest.

12 May 2013

Why aren't you reading this?

Required reading here.  Dude has it going on.

Nothing to see here, move along.

I'm certain that this was an innocent mistake by low-level employees and is a total aberration and will totally never happen again and it never even happened in the first place and SHUT UP YOU TEABAGGER NAZI.

The video below describes an experience that would be expected in a police state.

When national security expert Julia Davis informed the FBI that 23 people from Islamic terrorist countries had crossed the U.S. border with Mexico without undergoing routine checks, she was labeled a “domestic terrorist” and subjected to harassment and imprisonment. Prior to her discovery, Davis had actually read a DHS alert cautioning that members of Al Qaeda were planning to penetrate the U.S. Understandably, she was greatly alarmed that a potential terrorist attack would be perpetrated as a result.

Following her report on the breach of U.S. security, Ms. Davis’ home was raided with a Black Hawk helicopter and a 27-man SWAT team and she became the subject of 54 government investigations.

Yeah.  But there's no agenda here or anything.  Just go back to your football game or reality TV and put your trust in Big SSister.  Ignorance is Strength!!*

(The irony of her name being 'Julia' has not gone unnoticed.  Those who haven't read 1984, should.)

You are not alone

The LawDog on government tantrums

No one lays down the snark with as much class and talent as this unassuming Texas Deputy.

Matter-of-fact, this whole sorry episode is going to be another footnote in the annals of history that future scholars will point to and say, "This was the period of time in which the Government of the United States consisted solely of people who didn't have any business running anything more complicated than a lemonade stand without adult supervision."

RTWT.  And I totally concur with his prescription for our Lords and Masters...it might be just what they need.

A disturbing take on Benghazi

Yeah, yeah, go ahead and dismiss the whole thing as tinfoil hattery.  Or, you could examine what Ann 's saying here and try to find something concrete to try and disprove...

On Benghazi and 'Expendable Faggots'

Posted by Ann Barnhardt - May 10, AD 2013 5:16 AM MST

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, along with the rest of the regime players, murdered Ambassador Chris Stevens. It was a hit. It wasn't incompetence. It wasn't deer-in-the-headlights collective inaction. It wasn't a kidnapping plot gone wrong. It was a hit.

The whole incompetence argument is simply the domain of moral and intellectual cowards who insist upon seeing the world through rose colored glasses and deny objective reality. My contempt for these people knows no bounds. It's one thing to be stupid. It is quite another to be a coward. Cowardice is a pure moral choice. This is why courage is the fruit of the Third Sorrowful Mystery (the crowning with thorns). If courage was a genetic phenotype, as baseline intelligence largely is (as opposed to willful ignorance), then Our Lord would not desire that we pray for the grace of courage every day. Show me someone arguing that the Obama regime is incompetent and I'll show you a quivering little coward.

Next is the whole "kidnapping plot gone wrong" argument. Sorry. It doesn't hold water. First, the theory that Obama wanted to do a prisoner exchange of Ambassador Stevens for the Blind Sheik right before the election in order to look like some sort of hero is simply ludicrous. Americans would have been repulsed and disgusted by such a move. Americans don't cotton to capitulation to kidnappers. And releasing the Blind Sheik? No, this would have worked against Obama in public opinion. The fact of one of our Ambassadors being kidnapped at all would have come off as a sign of profound weakness, and releasing the Blind Sheik would have pegged the needle on the ol' wimp-o-meter.

Next, this kidnapping scenario assumes that the Obama regime was relying on fairly contested elections, had no election fraud teams in place in the major metro areas of the swing states, and/or was truly Nixonian in its desire for a unanimous victory. Again, nope. They clearly weren't going for a unanimous or near-unanimous electoral college sweep as Nixon was trying to do. They were all about targeted fraud in the swing states. They had no care or concern about winning Kansas, Wyoming or Oklahoma. The motives simply don't match up.

Finally, we have to ask why the Clintons were co-conspirators in the murder of Stevens. WHY are the Clintons a.) participating in the initial murder of Stevens and b.) not throwing Obama and Jarrett under the bus? The Obama machine stole the 2008 primaries from Hillary, and both Bill and Hillary personally loathe Obama and his Chicago crew. Why this unholy demonic alliance?

Because Chris Stevens was a lynchpin in the running of arms by the Obama regime and Clinton's State Department in full cooperation with each other to the Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda through Libya. And yes, it is absolutely sane and appropriate to assume that Huma Abedin (Hillary's consigliere and daughter of high-ranking Muslim Brotherhood leaders) figures into this. Both Obama's White House and Hillary's State Department were mutually and equally tied to this arms running, and both of their bacons were equally in the fire. The Obama White House, I am convinced, has plans for the retention of power beyond 2016 (Michelle?), and Hillary thinks she is going to be POTUS from 2017-2025. The bottom line is that the duumvirate of the most dangerous, evil psychopaths on the face of the earth decided for slightly different reasons that Ambassador Stevens needed to be dead in order to cover the gunrunning to the Muslim Brotherhood, and so together, they killed him. They withdrew all of his security (at the behest of the State Department), told the Muslim Brotherhood that it was all-clear, guaranteed that there would be no response or retaliation to an attack (only the Oval Office could issue the stand-down order), and even put the cherry on top by instantly framing the entire hit as some sort of musloid blasphemy propaganda. That was just gratuitous. Sickeningly gratuitous.

If it had been a kidnapping plot, Chris Stevens would have been KIDNAPPED. Remember, he had almost no security in the end. He wouldn't have been gang raped, killed and then had his dead body gang raped again.

The Clintons have a long history of having people murdered, all the way back into the early 1980's in Arkansas. Vince Foster. Ron Brown. These people are psychopaths and murderers. You have to deal with this.

The Obama machine, being neo-Stalinist, is also murderous, having seen to the assassination of at least three of Barry's sodomy partners from Trinity UCC cult on the South Side of Chicago. Purely as an aside, don't you think that it is odd that an attention whore like Jeremiah Wright saw three members of his cult murdered within just a few weeks of one another and never said a WORD publicly about that? No demands for a full FBI investigation on the front steps. No march through the streets with Jesse Jackson and Fr. Pfleger demanding that justice be done and that the targeted killings of his flock be given the highest priority by law enforcement. Nope. Nothing. It's almost as if Wright was neither surprised nor alarmed by the rapid serial killing of his "parishioners". I wonder what POSSIBLE EXPLANATION there could be for that?

Sadly, Chris Stevens was just another "expendable faggot" in the eyes of the Obama-Clinton machine. He was a dead man the day he accepted the position. And doesn't it seem odd that the Obama-Clinton machine would send a known sodomite man to be the ambassador to an unstable, backward muslim country to begin with? Again, it was probably done intentionally as a last-ditch hedge, an ace-up-the-sleeve as it were. Stevens could be killed, and then turned into some sort of sodomite martyr as a last-ditch plan. But, they didn't need that. They had the "blasphemy video". Eyeroll.

Finally, I would like to reiterate that the ultimate "expendable faggot" is Barry himself. I worry. I worried terribly after he showed up stoned to the first debate. I continue to worry now. Barry the man is in no way any sort of intellectual driver behind the regime. He is a puppet, a facade, a lazy imbecile and sodomite and nothing more. If the drivers decide that he is worth more dead than alive, assassinating their "expendable faggot" would be the mother of all Reichstag Fires, and would likely result in instant suspension of the Constitution and martial law. IF BARRY IS ASSASSINATED, THE FIRST THING THAT A TEXAS, A KANSAS, AND ANY OTHER REMNANT STATES LOYAL TO THE CONSTIUTION SHOULD DO IS SECEDE. LIKE, WITHIN MINUTES.

And you people keep paying taxes into this.

Kyrie eleison.
Christe eleison.
Kyrie eleison.

We may never know all the facts, but this analysis makes sense to me.  Like I said, you can dismiss it out of hand, or you can think about it.  Free will, y'all.

Now, I'm going to present you with the photo at the end of Ann's post.  I warn you, it is graphic and disturbing.

09 May 2013

Yeah, Zombie nailed it.

Progracists hate Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream of an America in which people “will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character,” because progressive policies are based on race consciousness, ethnic division, and identity politics.

Progracists call Americans “cowards” for not discussing race enough; but when we do discuss it, they call us racists.

Progracists don’t want you to know that the progressive hero Margaret Sanger sought to legalize abortion specifically to reduce the population of minorities in America, as part of a eugenics program to protect the racial purity of whites.

Democrat Woodrow Wilson was the first progressive president — and he also introduced racial segregation and Jim Crow laws to Washington DC, claiming segregation was beneficial to blacks because otherwise they would be out-competed by superior whites; he even used the White House to promote the film Birth of a Nation and especially its glorification of the Ku Klux Klan; despite all this (or perhaps because of it), Wilson remains an iconic hero to modern progracists.

But wait, there's more.

(HT Doug Ross)

Mr. Colion Noir: I'll have your back any day!

Via Say Uncle, the latest from one of the Jedi Masters of Snark.

We Conservatives totally got that whole "not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character" thing.  Why are the Proglodytes still stuck in 1950's Alabama?

06 May 2013

Yeah...it's like that.

On tyranny:

Antitrust laws are only one example of Progressive tyranny; Prohibition, which made criminals rich and established a permanent criminal organization, is another example. Fortunately, the insanity of trying to legislate beverage choices eventually became so obvious that it was repealed. A rare blow struck for freedom; one wishes that the present Mayor of New York City had studied history. However, the repeal of Federal prohibition kicked off the next attempts at Progressive 'improvement.'

Enter the current war on drugs. Started in 1914 with the Pure Food and Drug Act, in the aftermath of the repeal of alcohol prohibition the authorities began to expand and aggressively enforce the prohibition of "dangerous drugs" (what are those, exactly? Aspirin? Tylenol? Antibiotics? By what principle are such things defined?) This aggressive enforcement hasn't done much to decrease drug use, but we have succeeded in enriching murderous thugs by creating legal barriers to entry for recreational substances and provided an endless source of employment for tens of thousands of 'law enforcement' officers.

We have created a system which provides massive financial incentives for the drug cartels to create, import and sell the most addictive substances that they can to whomever they can attract. Usually the young. Then there are the infringements upon our Constitutionally guaranteed rights, which have largely eviscerated that protection against arbitrary police power. I'm told by law enforcement acquaintances involved in the drug war that the inflation adjusted price of most recreational substances has been steady or decreased over the last couple of decades, so if your goal is reduction of drug use and the protection of the young from the predatory efforts of the local illegal drug dealer (and you DO have a local illegal drug dealer, regardless of where you live,) then the 'War on Drugs' has been lost.

There are literally hundreds, if not thousands of examples I could cite and I could go on in this vein for thousands of pages, but the point is that the ultimate result of 'Progressive' legislation is a totalitarian police state. Is that your goal? Is that what you want the future to look like?

What is the only legitimate function of government? To protect the rights of the individual. If the government not only fails to act to protect our rights, but acts to destroy them, is that government legitimate? Do you want to continue the progress of these presently united States towards totalitarian tyranny?

What is to be done? This, gentle reader, is up to you. I can show you the path back to liberty, but only you can walk it.

RTWT.  It's freedom or it ain't.

How I turned from the Dark Side

I've always been for freedom.  It seemed self-evident, if you will, that people should be able to do whatever they liked, as long as they weren't defrauding or harming the person or property of another.  If someone wanted to smoke a joint, host an orgy or carry a gun, exactly how was that harming me?

I still feel that way.  That part hasn't changed.  What has changed, is my understanding of who my allies really are in this fight.

Here's a comment on an article that we ought to be taking lessons from:

With muslims making up only 4% of Myannmar’s (Burma’s) population, this level of Buddhist outrage is damningly conclusive as to how evil islam must be. Not only that, but it is damningly conclusive as to how stupid anybody else is, especially liberals, if they cannot see how muslims overwhelmingly cause more trouble, misery, murder, mayhem, and destruction upon this earth and it’s diverse peoples, creeds, and cultures. Only a thoroughly brainwashed or willfully blind idiot couldn’t see this. Everybody the world over it seems have troubles with muslims. Hmm, could it be because of islam’s supremacist nature? Hello? HELLO LEFTARDS!

Apparently, there is no greater a blithering idiot than a leftist blithering idiot, and one would be at great pains to find one. Not even uneducated, inbred muslims come close to that kind of stupid. A stupid born of academic arrogance, guilt-ridden self-hate, and hubristic snobbery.

Post-modern liberalism truly is a mental illness. If one wishes to see a perfect example of this in action, just look at Mikey Weinstein and his war against Christianity in the ranks of the US military. This man is the epitome of a left-wingnut, rabid extremist, hypocrite, and a projectionist prick, out to suppress the 1st Amendment rights of Christian servicemembers.

Go forth and read the article.  When you succeed in pissing off Buddhists, you're doing something dreadfully wrong.

05 May 2013

Why should we trust you?

The gun-grabbers don't understand why we basically aren't talking to them any more.  Because you can't 'coexist' with people who view you as less than human, and want to destroy you and everything you stand for.

Gun people don’t trust anti-gun people because they seek to punish us for crimes we didn’t commit. We don’t trust anti-gunners because we know that the 100 million of us are peaceful, law-abiding citizens who love this country and our society as much as the next liberal. Yet when one previously convicted felon murders someone with a stolen gun five days after his release from prison, or things like the Newtown shooting happen, guns are blamed — and therefore lawful gun owners too, as there is guilt by association, apparently.

Gun people don’t trust anti-gun people because when things like the Boston Marathon bombing happen, everyone correctly blames the bomber, not the bomb. Nobody is calling for bomb control because killing people with bombs is already illegal — just like killing people with guns is illegal too.

Gun people don’t trust anti-gun people because they’re fine with guns protecting the money in our banks, our politicians and our celebrities, but they’re against us using guns to protect ourselves, our families, or even our children in schools. Legislative trolls like Dianne Feinstein cry havoc about me protecting my life, while standing comfortably behind armed guards —and the .38 Special revolver she got a California carry permit for. We don’t trust anti-gunners because they tell us our lives aren’t important, or at least are less important than the life of some celebrity like Snooki, who can have all the armed guards her bank account can afford.

RTWT.  Seriously, this article encapsulates every single reason I can think of, why we're no longer trying to explain reality to a group of obvious mental defectives.

There just ain't no more to say, except this:  For this particle-by-particle breakdown, Barry Snell is the 13th-ever recipient of the W&PO Award For Extreme Cleverness.   May God bless and guide you in your future endeavors, sir!

03 May 2013

Damn right.

Hmm...three out of five.  I'd better get to work on the last two...

(Ripped off from the good people at Sipsey Street)
